Open Your Home. Support a BCHC Athlete This Season.

As preparations for the inaugural British Columbia Hockey Conference season get underway, players from across Canada are getting ready to begin the next step in their hockey journey. Before they can take the ice, many of these student-athletes need a welcoming place to call home.

Host families play a vital role in the BCHC, providing players with a safe, supportive environment as they pursue their goals both on and off the ice. For many athletes, this is their first experience living away from home, and having a caring family to return to each day makes a meaningful difference throughout the season.

Billeting is about more than providing a room. It’s about becoming part of a player’s support system during an important stage of their development. Many host families build lasting relationships with their players, with connections that continue well beyond their junior hockey careers.

In return, BCHC teams offer host family support packages, which typically include a monthly financial stipend to help offset food and household expenses, as well as complimentary season tickets so families can cheer on their player throughout the season.

If you’ve ever considered becoming a host family, now is the perfect time to get involved. By opening your home, you’ll help provide a young athlete with the stability and support they need while becoming an important part of their hockey journey.
