Kamloops knocked off the hottest team in the BCHC, but Columbia Valley wasn’t about to let the Storm leave with a Kootenay sweep.
After wins in Fernie and Kimberley, including the victory that ended the Dynamiters’ eight-game winning streak, Kamloops arrived in Invermere chasing its sixth straight win. The Rockies had other plans.
Their 8–5 victory Sunday capped back-to-back eight-goal performances in a weekend that featured 20 games, seven extra-time finishes and plenty of reasons to keep watching.
The Storm stops in Invermere
For two nights, Kamloops had every answer.
The Storm opened their trip with a 5–3 win in Fernie Friday, then beat Kimberley 5–2 Saturday behind two goals and an assist from Carter Biggs and a 47-save performance from Brenner Fyfe.
The Dynamiters had extended their winning streak to eight the night before, beating Grand Forks 7–0 with Sam Lai stopping all 17 shots he faced. Kamloops ended that run and stretched its own winning streak to five.
Then came Columbia Valley.
The Rockies scored eight times Sunday, with eight different players finding the net and the power play converting four of five opportunities. The 8–5 win denied Kamloops a perfect three-game Kootenay trip.
It was the second consecutive night Columbia Valley had eight different goal scorers. An 8–6 win over Grand Forks Saturday started the offensive surge, and Sunday’s result gave the Rockies three straight victories.
Kamloops left with four points from a demanding road weekend. Columbia Valley finished with four points and 16 goals.

Five straight for Williams Lake
Williams Lake’s winning streak travelled well.
The Mustangs picked up two road victories to extend their run to five, beginning with a late escape on Beaver Valley’s 80s Night Friday.
Trailing 3–2 with the clock running down, Williams Lake tied the game with just 24 seconds remaining before winning 4–3 in a shootout.
Saturday brought a more comfortable finish. The Mustangs beat Nelson 5–1 on the Leafs’ Western Night to complete a four-point weekend.
Williams Lake entered the trip with one road win. It returned home with three.
Coastal makes its home weekend count
Coastal gave its fans two wins across Pride Night and Cancer Awareness Night, sweeping Chilliwack with a 5–4 overtime victory Friday and a 6–3 win Saturday.
The Tsunami had to regroup Friday after the Jets erased a two-goal third-period deficit. Coastal found the overtime winner, then followed up with a three-goal victory the next night.
Chilliwack arrived tied with Langley atop the Valley Division. The Jets left with one point, while Coastal collected all four.
Delta takes both
Delta and Ridge Meadows entered Friday separated by one point, with each having shut out the other in their first two meetings.
This time, both teams scored. Delta still left with the points.
The Ice Hawks won 4–2 to take a 2–1 lead in the season series, then added a 5–4 overtime victory over Port Coquitlam Saturday for a four-point weekend.
Ridge Meadows responded Sunday with a 4–2 win in Langley. Josh Bettesworth contributed a goal and two assists as the Flames made it three wins in three meetings with the Trappers.
Osoyoos’ home streak ends at five
For one more night, the Sun Bowl remained a place visiting teams couldn’t solve.
Osoyoos erased a two-goal deficit to beat Revelstoke 3–2 Friday, improving to 5–0 at home.
Beaver Valley ended that run Saturday. The Nitehawks won 4–2 on Owl Pub Halloween Night, becoming the first visiting team to leave the Sun Bowl with a victory this season.
Combined with Friday’s shootout point against Williams Lake, the win gave Beaver Valley three points from the weekend.
Revelstoke also bounced back Saturday, beating Princeton 7–5 during the Posse’s Pumpkin Bowling and Halloween Game. The Grizzlies have won all three meetings between the teams this season.
Summerland ends its skid, Merritt earns a split
Summerland gave its youngest fans a finish worth staying for.
On Minor Hockey Night, presented by Martens Electrical Contracting, the Jets beat Langley 5–4 in a shootout to end a five-game losing streak. Minor hockey players wearing their jerseys received free admission.
In Quesnel, Merritt recovered from a 4–2 Friday loss to earn a weekend split.
Friday marked the Centennials’ first regulation road loss of the season. Saturday brought another extra-time finish, with Ryker Swanson scoring just 28 seconds into overtime for a 2–1 win.
Five of Merritt’s last seven games have gone beyond regulation.
Fernie responds, Richmond keeps winning
Grand Forks finally scored against Fernie on Sunday after being shut out in the teams’ first two meetings.
The Ghostriders took over from there.
Fernie scored six unanswered goals for a 6–1 victory, bouncing back from Friday’s loss to Kamloops and earning a weekend split.
Richmond needed a shootout to keep its winning streak going in Burnaby. Alan Peregrym made 29 saves, and Dylan Heer and Mark Lee converted in the shootout as the Sockeyes won 2–1 for their fourth straight victory.
Burnaby earned a point but remains in search of its first win.
